IKPS installed approximately 6,855 LF of 12鈥� HDPE DR9 in conjunction with either a 20鈥� Steel or 12鈥� Steel pipeline into one common ditch for both pipelines.聽 The project included a 16鈥� cased bore and a stream crossing.聽 The waterline tied into an existing 20鈥� HDPE waterline that the client was using for conveying fresh water to well pads for fracking.聽 Since most of this line was placed into a common ditch with a steel pipeline, we excavated a wider ditch than usual.聽 HDPE lays differently than steel, so the pace of installation was significantly different.聽 In addition, there were two winch hills, and the tie-in to the existing waterline was in a difficult location due to the 20鈥� steel gas crossing at the same location.
